THE NDE HAS ESTABLISHED A MODEL FOR CAREER EDUCATION FOR NEBRASKA STUDENTS. THE LINK ABOVE PROVIDES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEBRASKA CAREER EDUCATION STANDARDS AND CURRICULUM. COMPONENTS OF THESE GUIDELINES ARE USED AT MULTIPLE GRADE LEVELS AT A-M. TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THESE RESOURCES TO PROMOTE HEALTHY SCHOOL-TO-WORK TRANSITIONS FOR STUDENTS.
Respite is a valuable resource for parents and care-givers of people with special needs. Respite care provides a short-term break from the demands of caring for your loved one in which you can recharge, run errands, or seek medical care for yourself.
Parents educating parents (PEP)
pep is a nonprofit organization of parents that provide classes, support, and resources to other parents. They hold workshops throughout the entire nation, including right here in central nebraska. they provide parenting classes, information, and guidance from people who have "been there, done that".
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT SCHOOL
A-M SCHOOLS ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP ENHANCE THE EDUCATION OF OUR STUDENTS. PARENTS AND PATRONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO TALK TO CLASSROOM TEACHERS ABOUT ARIOUS WAYS THEY MAY BE ABLE TO VOLUNTEER, SUCH AS READING WITH STUDENTS, PROVIDING SUPPLIES, OR BEING AN EXTRA HAND FOR SPECIAL ACTIVITIES. ADDITIONALLY, VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS ARE GRACIOUSLY WELCOMED TO THE WEEKEND BACKPACK PROGRAM, THE LIBRARY, AND TEAMMATES MENTORING PROGRAM. CONTACT ANY TEACHER OR ADMINISTRATOR FOR MORE INFORMATION.
